((OCC: The audition I wrote for Maron. I apologize that Mavis wasn't used much or if she is out of character. I was nervous and figured it would be better to end this with Mavis meeting Maron.))
It was a starry night in the town. Not a cloud was in the sky. While most were at home, relaxing after a hard day at work or school, it wasn’t the same case for some others…
“STOP THIEF!”
Not to far away was the town’s locate thief who jumped from rooftop to rooftop. A young girl who went by the name ‘Kaitou Jeanne’. Now clearly it wasn’t her real name but the police didn’t know her true name. They only knew the name she called herself by in her calling cards she send anywhere she had a heist planned. Almost as a warning to her targets and the police. No one knew why she would do so through when it only caused trouble for her. Or why she left behind items similar to the ones she stole either. An odd habit and was part of the reason the police wanted to capture her.
‘Jeanne’ smiled as she kept running with her prize in hand: A beautiful golden bracelet with a blue sapphire in the middle. It had taken a bit of work to break into the mansion it was in. She had to use a dummy which it crashed through the window. While the police searched for her outside once they realized the truth, she quickly tried to sneak it. Almost got her caught due to the alarms the bracelets former owner had set up but, much to her relief, luck was on her side. She was able to locate and grab the bracelet. And was in the middle of her escape from the police.
“Going to have to try harder than that if you want to catch me!” ‘Jeanne’ called out.
She couldn’t help but show off a bit. Partly due to keep up an act so no one would realize who she was from similar personalities. After all, a disgust could only go so far and even than, it may not help much. Through that fact was based on how skillful a detective was if one ever came aboard her case. Something she hoped wouldn’t happen with other types of criminals out there.
It took some more roof jumping before she finally lost them. ‘Jeanne’ landed in a darken alleyway. No windows were around for anyone to open and suddenly see her. She couldn’t hear anymore shouting either. At last as clearly as it once was. Any shouting she heard was an echo. ‘Jeanne’ sighed in relief.
“That was close.” ‘Jeanne’ started to herself. “I almost thought I was a goner there.”
She raised her gloved hands to her blond hair. To what would be surprising to many, she pulled the blond hair off, revealing it to be a wig as her curly brown hair fell down. Thankfully, Maron Kusakabe wore her normal clothing underneath the thief outfit. Seeing how she couldn’t return to her apartment in her thieving gear. She knew the police would come in a matter of seconds if someone reported that they saw Jeanne there.
After stuffing the thief outfit into her bag, Maron started to walk out of the alleyway and pocketed the bracelet. She made a note in her mind to destroy it later so it couldn’t cause anymore harm to someone. Course, she didn’t notice someone had been watching the event as the viewer smiled to herself.
(....)
About an hour later, Maron had return home. She had already put her stuff away in her closet and had the curtains closed so no one could see her. The brown haired girl was holding the bracelet as she sat down in the living room.
“Now, what to do…” Maron mumbled to herself in question.
After all, she couldn’t make a lot of noise. Otherwise, the people living next door would start to ask question.
However, her thoughts were quickly caught off when the doorbell rung. The girl quickly hid the bracelet and stood up. She tried not to show any signs of being caught off guard or any appearance of surprise. She couldn’t imagine who would be at the door with what time it was.
“I’ll be right there!” Maron called out.
She dusted her skirt a bit and walked over to the door. She slowly opened it. Worried someone may have found out her secret somehow and called the police. Through, to some relief, the person at the door was what looked a young black haired girl.
“Oh hello. Are you Maron?” The girl asked.
Maron blinked a bit in confusion. She knew she never met this girl before. And she didn’t recall hearing anyone new was entering the apartments. But then again, it could be possible someone just forgot to tell her.
“Um, yes, I am.” Maron answered, trying not to show any confused look. Through she was failing in that part, “And who are you?”
The girl smiled as she give her answer. One that be the start of Maron’s world changing once more.
“My name is Mavis. And...I think I know a place that could help you.”
