Name: Hiro Hamada
Age: 14
Family: He does have an Aunt Cass and older brother, Tadashi. Although he does live with them for a couple of years after his parents died, they do not know that Hiro is a computer hacker and he does "steal" credit card information to donate to a website that does need money for charity. Whenever Tadashi or Aunt Cass enters his room to check up on him, he does try to hide the fact that he's a hacker, but only does it for good purposes and not to earn money all to himself. He just keeps his "thieving" technique to himself for the most part. While being in "Leverage", he does think of the two of them every once in a while, but at the same time, he's afraid of them seeing his secret "doing" on his computer while being at the academy. Luckily, his family members aren't thieves to belong with, as he mainly got inspired by watching a lot of crime shows to see on how people hack, but, in his case, he does hack to save lives.
Personality: Hiro is one of those teens who does like to discuss computer related topics, mainly hacking, but tries to at least somehow keep it quiet once he's around an interpol or a police officer. He does like to also talk about robotics since he did make and design them on the side before becoming a hacker but tries to not to brag. He's a shy, yet sassy type of boy who does at least try to help others in need and is very loyal, to those around him. He's very crafty when it comes it comes to work and is often quite curious whenever someone older than him works, and sometimes watches to learn, even though he does learn very quickly. He's also very smart when it comes to all sorts of computer related topics, so, he's you're "guy" if anyone needs help with a technical issue, and he's been working with computers ever since he was a young boy so, he does try to help whenever he can. When being around classmates, he's shy at first, but, once he gets to know someone right away, he does at least try to keep a conversation going. He sometimes can be flirty and be a sass at times, as he got that trait from his older brother, but tries not to flirt whenever class is in session. Whenever he flirts, he either winks or gives a simple wave. At times, Hiro could be very studious and anxious, especially when it comes to schoolwork and doing an assignment for a teacher, but as long as he remains calm, he'll concentrate and have fun once his work is complete. Due to his young age, he could be naive when it comes to dating, but does not seem to think about it that often, unless it's around someone he likes or admires the most, whether guy or a girl, and he concentrates mainly on schoolwork, but at least tries to make an effort to hang out with others. Overall, Hiro is sweet, technical, intelligent, and sometimes very studious, yet tries to have fun.
Style of thieving: Hiro's style of "stealing" is him mainly being a hacker. He has this one job for a while, and mainly on his own without people looking since he doesn't want to get caught. His main motive of hacking is mainly going on a computer and using his IP program that he installed on his computer and then he tried to find the passwords to people's profiles and then, hacks into the person's profile to grab the money via bank account. He does try to keep the duty hidden from Tadashi and Aunt Cass do, he won't get caught, but, when got accepted into Leverage, he only shows his teacher and other classmates on how he does his "stealing" for a good cause, as does want to help other poor kids and families earn money to get food and shelter. He does mainly steal from people who are rich and criminals in prisons, and not from middle class families since he feels like the middle class and low class families need the money, not the rich families and criminals.
How they got a letter from Once-ler's gang: Hiro, being a hacker ever since he was twelve, has been stealing from rich people's and criminal's bank accounts by simply hacking into their profiles and stealing the amount of money he needs. After "stealing" the money, he donates to an online charity for those who need homes and surviving diseases. Although he does feel guilty for "stealing" at first, he does try to at least give the poor and middle class the money they deserve to have. Did at least two years, Hiro has been hiding his secret habit from Tadashi, and Aunt Cass, including his teachers when he went to school at the time. So, on the side, he was going "homework" and while he was doing that, he sneakily went into people's profiles and opened up his program and then, he stated to take money out of people's accounts. After, he put the money in various charities to donate to mainly online sites that had charity needs. So, he donated the money that he "stole"; After he donated, Hiro felt good about what he did and went back to doing "homework." One day, while Hiro was continuing to hack, Tadashi popped into his room and soon as Hiro saw him going into his room, he immediately had to hide on what he was doing and he had to put his "report" up, Tadashi and Hiro talked about him going to a club in his school which was the Robotics club that, he, Hiro himself organized, and Hiro had to lie to his brother, letting him know that a friend was going to be hosting it for him due to a lot of "work." Tadashi understood and left the room, leaving him to do his "homework." As Tadashi left the room, Hiro went back to his usual job, which was hacking. After doing that for a couple of minutes, an e-mail pooped up, mentioning that "he" knew that on "what he did." As Hiro saw the mysterious e-mail, the two chatted via e-mail messages until the guy revealed that he was a teacher for an underground Academy called "Leverage", and he decided to set up a meet-up for the both of them. Hiro, feeling suspicious about this, thought that this meeting was going to turn out awkward. As was about to leave, Tadashi and Aunt Cass wanted to know on where he was going, and Hiro lied that he was heading off to the library, not letting them know that he was going to meet up with the teacher in the park. The two of them meet up and Hiro explained to the man on what he could do, that he mainly hacks into people's computer systems and he also does tell him that he gives the money that he "stole" to charity. As Flint beard that coming out of the young boy's mouth, he was not only feeling impressed, but also glad that he was able to come across a young boy who does a generous thing. Flint Lockwood and Hiro parted after a conversation and the teacher told Hiro that he would consider talking to the "mastermind" about him. As Hiro came home, Aunt Cass and Tadashi saw that he was tired, and decided to leave him be for the night. While eating dinner, e-mail showed up on Hiro's computer, revealing that he was accepted to Leverage. Hiro, although feeling nervous about going, felt ready to try out the place, after that conversation between he and Flint was informative and felt glad that was able to at least got to know him before the year started. So, Hiro has high expectations of coming out as a good guy after graduating from the place, and hoped that being a hacker would not be a criminal's act in the end.
