In the city, there were two young teens named Petra and Lukas and although they're both thieves, they still want the community to at least have some good fortune. They luckily did not get arrested for stealing from all sorts of places such as the bank or people's mansions. Although they did not look like thieves due to their appearances, which is simple t-shirts and jeans, they were thieves, and they were proud at it, since they want to give to the poor.
One night, at around midnight, the two cousins snuck out, again. "Uh, where are we going?" Lukas asked, with an eyebrow raised up. Petra nudged his shoulder, and rolled her eyes and pointed towards the mansion that was across the street. "Well, to answer your question, Lukas. We are doing what we always do, go to the mansion and steal their jewelry that's all. We have to sick to the plan that we always follow; you try to figure out the code, I'll be on the lookout for any "guards". Petra said, rolling her eyes. "Got it. Let's hope my mom won't call the police on us." Lukas replied, with a shiver going up and down his body. The orange-haired girl hugged and grumbled. "Lukas, we get away with stealing all the time, so, we won't get caught." Lukas, believing her, rolled her eyes and they both walked toward the mansion.
They were two guard dogs in front of the house, and they both stopped as Petra was trying to figure out on how to go to pass the dogs. She tapped her chin for a couple of seconds, and had an idea. "Lukas, go find chew toys or meat. I'll try to make sure these dogs don't notice me." Following her command, Lukas was trying to see if there were pet stores open for at least twenty-four hours. "Man, most of these are closed." He grumbled as he was noticing that most of the places were closed for the night. "Great, better find myself a way to get in." Lukas said to himself as he was pacing in front of the store. A couple of seconds later, he saw that there was a hair-pin on the sidewalk. As soon as he was about to use the item, he got a text from Petra. "Yo, you back yet? The dogs are looking at me, thinking I'm an imposter." As Lukas read the message, he quickly used the hair-pin to open up the lock of the store. "Ok, two chew toys." He whispered to himself as he grabbed two of them in a quick-manner; one was a ball, and the other was a meat like shaped squeak toy. As soon as Lukas got out of the building, he locked the door and texted Petra.
"Petra, I'm on my way now, with the two toys." He texted back, running as fast as he could to the mansion. As he got to the mansion, the two dogs were growling at Petra and Lukas were growling at Petra and Lukas whistled to get their attention. "Psst, you two, want to play?" He whispered to the dogs and threw the toys to them to get them distracted. "Nice work, Lukas. You got them distracted." Petra whispered, as she saw the guard dogs playing with their toys. As the two cousins approached the door, Lukas was trying to figure out on how to get in. "Ok, I used this hair-pin to go into the pet stores so, this item could get us in." He thought out loud. Petra, hearing the thought, saw in what he got in his hand.
"A hair-pin?" Petra asked, raising an eyebrow, thinking that a simple object like that would not get them into the mansion. Lukas looked up at her and nodded, and tried to use it to open the door. So far, the door would not budge. "Great, now what?" Lukas thought, scratching his chin. Petra, seeing that there was rock on the ground, smirked and threw it at the window, breaking a glass.
The two is them had to quickly scatter through the mansion to look for the jewelry before anyone in the mansion woke up. "Hm, might as well tip-toe through the mansion.." Lukas whispered, while running. Petra turned on her flashlight and nodded, agreeing with him. She started to tip-toe through the house as well. Although there were no sirens throughout the home, they still had to be extra careful just in case there was another family pet. For a couple of minutes, the two cousins scrambled through the house and a couple of seconds later, they stumbled upon double doors and saw that they were once again, locked. "Now, use the hair-pin." Petra whispered as he got out the item and opened the door, slowly, trying to not wake them up. While walking through the bedroom, Petra turned on her flashlight to look for the jewelry box; she found it a couple of seconds later and then, she gestured Lukas to go near the box. Inside had all sorts of jewelry, including a diamond necklace, Pearl earnings, and a golden chain bracelet.
"Bingo..." Petra thought out loud silently as she got out her bag and she and Lukas started to put the rich items in the bag. The two cousins did this carefully and quietly so, the couple would not wake up. "Got the replacements?" Lukas asked, as he was almost done filling up the bag. "Yup, I do!" Petra whispered back, as she put the "fake jewelry" in the box. After filling up the bag, Petra and Lucas were getting out the mansion and they both saw that the two dogs were still luckily distracted by their chew toys. "Whew, at least they're not looking at us." Lukas commented, as the both of them walked out of the building in a quick and quiet manner. As they got out, they noticed a dark short haired young woman, looking at them.
"Saw what you two did." The woman said, with a smirk. Petra and Lukas looked at her, with a look of shock. "Where did she come from?" They thought to themselves while looking are one another. "Yeah, are you a police officer or something?" Lukas asked, backing off slowly with a look of fear. The young woman shook her head and chuckled. "Nope, I am a teacher under a school on where you can steal from the rich and give to charity, called Leverage. I guess you two never heard of it." The young woman asked, as the two cousins nodded their heads, and Lukas sighed in relief. "Nope, never heard of it. I guess you could say we've been doing this for a while, because we believe that the less fortune need more." Petra commented, and looked up at her. The young woman nodded, and grinned at the both of them. "Check out your mailbox when you get back to your home in forty-eight hours. I am sure the head-master will like you two. But, before I go, I need to know your stealing style. Oh, I'm Mavis Lockwood, thieving teacher, you are?" She asked, with a small smile, gazing upon the potential students. Petra and Lukas looked at her and felt as though hearing their explanation of stealing would be useful to talk about. "Well, I'm Petra and this Lukas Our style of stealing is us, being sneaky thieves. Luckily, the cops didn't catch us. Interesting to hear about a school on where we learn to improve our stealing skills. We both have been thieves since we were young, as our family is technically poor, so, stealing is I guess our way of living. Luckily, we do get food stamps and money from the mayor, but, I guess we have to live the Criminal life." Petra, commented with a small sigh feeling bad that they had to live that way, instead of acting, proper and living the life of good citizens.
Mavis looked at the both of them and patted both of their shoulders. "Hey, being bad is not that horrible as people could think, besides, we don't make you guys criminals technicality."
She commented, with a wink. "Now, you guys donate to the nearest shelter, see you two later." She said, strolling off with a wink and smile.
After that awkward meeting, Lukas and Petra walked to the shelter, and saw that there was a box that was taking donations. One by one, the the two put the jewelry in the box and quickly headed back to Petra's place. "Hey, you two. Brought anything home?" Petra's mom asked, as she was smoking a cigarette. "No, but we donated jewelry by breaking into a mansions as mainly stole their jewelry, replaced them with the fake ones, and just donated them to the donation box. That's all." Petra replied, with a yawn. "Ah, I see. Well, you two looked like you had a rough night go to sleep now." Her mother said, as she closed the lights in the kitchen. Petra didn't bother to tell her about them meeting Mavis, since they did not want to discuss a school regarding the end of graduation. "So, might as well sleep now." Lukas suggested, as the two headed off to sleep, after a long night of stealing and meeting a teacher.
Two days later, something came into the mailbox, which looked like a letter of some sort. "Is this the acceptance letter Mavis was talking about?" Lukas asked, as he was opening the envelope. As the envelope got opened, it revealed a letter of some sort and it was the acceptance letter. "Oh, I guess we're in then." Lukas said, with a shrug having a bad feeling about this school. Petra playfully nudged Lucas on the shoulder with a small grin. "We'll be fine. As long as we come out as "good guys", instead of criminals in the end, I think we'll be pretty safe." She said, with a small wink. "Be sure to not tell your mom, or we'll be busted." Lukas said, while starting to pack. Petra, hearing that, looked at him and nudged him again. "Relax, we'll just let my mom know that we got applied to a school, for intelligence, and to get an education. We'll just sneak out, leaving a letter to my mom, that's all." Petra replied, as she was packing extra notebooks incase quizzes and tests may come up later, in the school year.
The next evening, the snuck to the academy, leaving Petra's mother a note, mentioning that they are going to a school, on the where will they be educated, not mentioning that the two of them may not be raised as criminals. They both had hope that they will at least become good people and learn on how to "steal" in a way in which people would not make them be caught by the police. Petra and Lukas may be thieves, but hoped that in the end, they'll be thieves for a good cause, instead of a bad and dangerous one. "Here we go." They both thought to themselves as they entered the place with an open mind.
As soon as they got in, Mavis found them. "Hey, saw that you got the acceptance letter, congrats!" She exclaimed, as she clasped her hands together. "Yeah, we got it, so, I guess you can show us around the school?" Lukas said, scratching his head. Mavis then showed them on where she will be teaching and the two of them felt as though learning from this woman would be a lot more fun than they thought. "Now, you two will be living in dorms, just so you know. Don't worry, I know you two are cousins, so, of course you can hang out with one another after class." The young lady said, with a small grin. Of course, Lukas and Petra will have their cell phones with them to text another before going to sleep for the night. "Dorms, eh? We both have a way to contact one another. Do not worry." Petra said to Mavis, giving Lukas a small wink. As soon as Mavis guided them throughout the place, they both went back to Petra's house to rest. "Looks like the school was not that bad, after all." Lukas said, and Petra nodded in agreement. They still held onto the envelope, including the letter, that they both got, and high expectations of the both of them, being "good thieves" at the end of the school hear.
