How they got a letter from Once-ler:
Kaneki's parents were kidnapped by a rich billionare that wanted to kill Kaneki's mother and father for the mother refusing to love him. Kaneki was tortured ruthlessly and watched both his parents die. Kaneki escaped, but was changed. His right eye had been replaced by a robotic one and his hair changed to white as results of the torture experiments. Kaneki escaped and started up Night Raid for a while and devised plans for a jail heist to food for orphans on the street. The gang soon fell apart after an arguement between members. Kaneki was the only one that remained nuetral and shorly after received some nightmares.
Onceler saw Kaneki one night stealing some food. Once-ler had heard stories about a mysterious dark gang of theives around the area and decided that Kaneki would be the perfect addition. The two of them talked and Kaneki soon received a letter. Kaneki wants to learn how to be a better leader on missions and become strong enough to protect.
