If there was anything that Cinder liked better than her position as a lieutenant officer, it was the fire. Something about it had always intrigued her ever since she was young. Being able to manipulate it wasn’t the only reason; there was something about the flames that kept the woman’s eyes glued to them. Perhaps it was how it could be both beneficial, yet harmful or maybe how powerful it was, even when there’s very little of it and the way it spreads. Fire had been a huge part of her life, for her first memory was spent in the rubble of a burnt house. Her soliloquy was soon to be interrupted.
“Hey, there, little lady.” She identified the voice as masculine, so she turned around to view his countenance. Main features: angular face, red sideburns, greenish eyes. Cinder had seen him in the prisons before, but only for a little bit since he was normally bailed out only a few days later. “I don’t believe I’ve seen you around here.”
“Can you leave me alone? I’m just here to be by myself. Taking a little break from work.”
“Ahh, work..” The man smirked and circled around her. “So, is this your corner?” The lieutenant decided to ignore him, for she knew what he was talking about. Her anger only festered when he gave her a few twenty dollar bills. “I could go for a little something right now.” As he made his way towards the bottom of her dress, she kicked him in the stomach and surrounded him in flames that came from her hands.
“Go. Now!” The man did so, unaware of half of his face being scarred. “Don’t they know. Those who run through a fire eventually get burnt.”
