Personality: Gou has an easygoing and refreshing personality, as shown by the way she talks. However, despite her friendly persona, she can get very angry if someone were to call her "Gou" because it is a rather boyish name for a girl.She prefers being called "Kou" and will always try to correct anyone who chooses to call her otherwise.Gou has an odd tendency to blush and get overly enthusiastic whenever she admires the muscles of hot boys.

Gou grew up with her older brother,Rin,who was a scuba diver and searched for underwater treasures.Gou always admired him and looked up to him and always wanted to be a scuba diver like him, so she became a swimmer to follow in his footsteps.Before Gou turned 13, Rin was scuba diving in the Atlantic Ocean and he had gone missing. The divers who were with him assumed he was dead, but no one ever found his body. Gou didn’t believe that he had died, so she decided to start training to be a better swimmer and soon enough, a scuba diver. She met her best friend,Tomoya,on the street when he was trying to pickpocket her.Gou thought that he was a no good delinquent, but his pickpocketing gave her an idea.Since she had no money to buy proper scuba gear,Gou turned to thievery and got a few tips from Tomoya.Once she had enough money,years later,Gou bought the required scuba gear and started her search for Rin.She never found him, but she found the lucky blue butterfly pin that she gave him and started to keep it with her at all times.
~Gou met Ariel,during her search party for Rin,as well.When Ariel invited her to Leverage Academy,Gou only accepted that way she could get more help in finding her brother.
