Personality: Gon is an athletic, rustic, and friendly boy who is searching for adventure. Also, he isn't very good at math. However, having spent a lot of time in the woods as a child, he is very good with animals. Gon is an Enhancer, who are known for being simple-minded and determined. This determination and talent leads to both potential allies and potential enemies trusting in him and taking his side. He has inhuman senses; Gon has a heightened sense of smell almost like a dog and has very good vision, as well as having very keen taste.

How he got a letter from the Once-ler's Gang:
Gon and his family, the Freecss Clan, have always looked to their protector, Rayquaza, the Sky Dragon, and bestowed the power to change into him with the Draco Meteorite of bond between human and dragon. However when Gon was bestowed the power it was hard for him to summon it and his parents worry that he would not summon the sky dragon like his family. Gon however was always optimistic and did what he did when he was struggling he went fishing. His guardian, Waylon Jones aka Killer Croc was watching over after he heard that Gon wished he could transform like his father and mother and encouraged Gon he would one day and that he would also summon the Sky Dragon spear and its true form.
However fate had different plans for Gon, a mysterious fire engulfed the Sky Tower, Gon's home, and both Gon and Croc rushed and tried to save his parents but it was too late the fire consumed his parents and Gon was determined more than ever to summon Rayquaza to avenged his family's death. When Croc put his hand on shoulder the Draco Meteorite reacted and it glowed green. Gon was blinded by the light and when he came to he was holding the spear that his father would hold and Croc was no where to be seen. When Croc spoke from the spear, it would seem that it would be a different summon of the sky dragon and Gon then used his fishing rod to pickpocket from the crooked business man, until a rainbow haired woman gave him a unique letter...
