As her parents did work as police officers and they didn't have much time to spend time with their two daughters. Although Jerrica is currently close to being an adult, including her being a younger sister, she still had to be protected by her sister, even though they both argue that she could take care of herself, as a independent woman. Jerrica started to become become a mystic after she and her discovered the magical earrings that could make her transform and make people fall asleep, including cloning. She kept that secret from her sister, Stella since she wanted to bring money for the both of them, even though Stella already works in a grocery store as a cashier. At Leverage, Jerrica still thinks about her sister, and sometimes contacts her via text message, letting her on how she's doing.
Personality: Jerrica at first is a shy young woman whenever meeting someone new, but, she does tend to have a fun, yet, sweetness and kind heart. She does get out of her way to help others in need, whether it could be a teacher in danger or one of her friends, in danger so, she at least does this to protect others. When being in her "mystic form" she does tend to be sneaky, and tries to act nice and to get the "victim's" attention and then, after getting them distracted, she hypnotizes them, and then steals. She doesn't tell anyone about the earrings since she thought they were a fortune when she first purchased them at a gift shop with Stella. So, she does not use her magic that often unless it's a mission related situation. She does not like to be called "Jem" instead of Jerrica, even though Jem is her mystic Spy name, but doesn't mind being called Jerrica either. She's also very hardworking and at least does her best to keep her teammates proud, and tries to at least not be a show off with her earrings, and mystic abilities. Whenever she could be practicing her singing since she before she became a mystic for a living, she wanted to be a famous pop star singer. She still wants to accomplish that dream, even though she couldn't afford to go to music school at the time. At times, she could have a very sharp tongue, but, only when getting defensive with other people, including the interpol since the other policemen killed her parents. She does have a guilty pleasure of having chocolate and candy as sometimes stress food. Jerrica refuses to have anyone badmouth her and her friends as she wants to help them in whatever way possible she could, even though she could sometimes be a bit overprotective, like her older sister, Stella was to her. Overall, Jerrica is a sweet, protective young woman with a lot of potential to help others, even though she's a "bad guy" willing to make a difference.

With the power of transformation, Jerrica has the ability to make herself a "lookalike" which is her looking like another person; For example, when she goes into a store, she presses the earring and make her wear the same clothing, as though she works. She sometimes, if necessary, uses a clone of herself with a hologram of herself to avoid any enemies or attacks, until the real one, as known as her, gets hit. For hypnosis, she presses a button on her earring and puts the "victim" to sleep and then, she sneakily gods for the item or object she needs. She did practice with the earrings for a while and did test it out on a couple of people in her neighborhood, including her sister, but, didn't tell the reason why she tested the earrings on her originally while being a "spy." So, she won't get in trouble with the police, or any interpol. Ever since she got the earrings from that one gift shop, she used the piece of jewelry to help her become a good "bad girl" to help people, including her and her sister stay wealthy and be in a good household.

To get away from the pain and loss of them not making enough money, Jerrica and, Stella did travel to a museum of ancient legends and scientific technology. While being in the gift shop, Jerrica did discover a pair of earrings that contained some sort of mythical power that the people of the museum couldn't uncover. So, out of curiosity, Jerrica did purchase them and decided to use them for some people for gaining money and outfits for the both of them. She started to name her alias "Jem". When using the earrings, and the more she used the piece of jewelry, the more confident she got. A couple of times, on her own, she did use the power of the earrings to help people in the city, such as transforming into a clerk to steal a dress for an elderly lady to make herself look young and cloning herself into a customer in an grocery store to get good for homeless people in the street. One day, after helping people by "stealing" on what they needed, she was greeted by a creature that she never seen, and it was a turtle. At first, Jerrica had no idea on how or where the turtle came from, and as the two talked for a bit, the turtle did admire on what the earrings could do. He wanted to know if Jerrica herself was a mystic, and at first, she didn't know on what to answer, and she wanted to tell the turtle the truth. So, she answered the turtle's question, revealing that she's a mystic, and also, even told him that she used the power of the earrings to help people do good and not bad. The turtle, believing Jerrica's honesty, revealed that he's a teacher that teaches mystic at a place called "Leverage" and introduced himself as "Oogway." Jerrica also told him about where she got the earrings revealing that they do have powers, as Oogway became more fascinated in them. So, after they talked a bit more, Oogway and Jerrica parted ways, as he became interested in her powers and thought that he would mention her to his boss at the academy and he had confidence in her having potential at the academy. As Jerrica arrived home a couple of hours later, after stealing and meeting Oogway, she came back home and met up with Stella, as she wanted to know on where she was. Jerrica lied to her, saying that she was "shopping", and not letting her know that she stole a high expensive dress and necklace. The next morning, mail came in and Stella got it, and one of the pieces of the mail revealed to be a letter for Jerrica. As Jerrica opened the letter, it was an acceptance letter from Leverage. Stella, gazing at the letter, wanted to know on what place was, and Jerrica had to lie, while claiming that it was a college to earn some education and it was in another state, and then, she began to pack. Never once, Jerrica revealed that Leverage was a place for thieves, like herself, so, she would not get thrown in jail.
