((I apologize if Rapunzel is out of character at any point in this.))
“Alright: Time for another day of work, right boy?”
Kaito Kuroba was walking along the street with his pet dog Dodger. Dodger barked in agreement. His tail wagged, excited to pull up their newest trick. Kaito smirked.
“Glad to hear it.” Kaito chuckled.
Kaito already had everything planned out in his mind. If things went as he hoped, he would have the money in no time. Luckily the area they were heading to where filled with rich folks who won’t too bright to figure the boy’s tricks.
The two soon arrived to the perfect spot. Kaito looked down at Dodger and winked. Dodger nodded. The boy walked over to the spot and cleared his throat for a moment.
“LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!” Kaito called out, “You are all in time to see the show!”
It took some folk’s attention right away. Curious people gathered around the boy as he started to perform. One person watching was a long blond haired woman. She watched carefully and noticed whenever he had someone ‘help’ him with a trick or would interact with someone closer, he would pick pocket some money the person had. Not all of it but he had a large amount by the end of the show. Kaito give his byes and thanks with a small bow. The crowd, none the wiser, clapped and cheered. Dodger just smirked as he watched. The crowd started to break away while Kaito walked over to his dog.
“Ready?” Kaito asked.
Dodger barked. The two headed off somewhere with the blond haired woman following close behind. She kept some distance so they wouldn’t notice her. The three soon arrived in front of a homeless shelter. The woman raised an eyebrow.
‘A homeless shelter? What’s he doing here?’ The woman thought.
“Wait here, alright Dodger?” Kaito asked.
Dodger nodded and sat down. The boy smiled and walked inside. He made his way to one of the workers.
The woman walked over to the window to watch what was going on. Dodger looked up to the woman. He tilted his head, curious. The woman watched as Kaito handed a letter to one of the workers. The boy headed out of the building while the worker opened it. To the worker’s surprise it was most, if not all, of the money Kaito had ‘gotten’ from the perform. The woman smiled to herself. She quickly turned as Kaito walked out of the building.
“That was a nice thing you did.” The woman said.
Kaito yelped. He quickly turned his attention to the woman and smiled. He kept a strong poker face, remembering the words of his father.
“Oh, you saw that?” Kaito asked.
The woman nodded.
“Sure did...along with the way you got it.” The woman said.
Crap...deep inside, Kaito was worried. But he had to keep his cool.
“Sorry, I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Kaito said.
“I’m talking about how you stole the money during your stage magic back there. I have to admit...not a bad way to get the job down.” The woman said.
Now this surprised both Kaito and Dodger. Did she really just say what they thought she said.
“Wait, what? I’m sorry but I think I misheard you. I could have sworn you said you thought I did a good thing stealing.” Kaito said.
“I do. My name is Rapunzel.” The woman, Rapunzel said.
“Rapunzel?” Kaito whispered.
He believed he heard his father and mother mention the name before. Though he never met her in personality or anything like that before. Rapunzel pulled out a letter and held it to Kaito.
“I think I know a school that could help improve your talent even more.” Rapunzel said with a smirk.
