Family: She doesn’t have a family in a traditional sense. Since she was six and her parents died in a car crash, she had been in foster care for two years. Amelia officially got ‘adopted’ by a woman who ran a boarding school for foster girls and those with mental problems. The main matron could give two shits about her “daughters”, so a small group of girls, including Amelia, formed a secret girl gang called “The Shadows” which just plain-out robbed and conned people.
Personality: All of the girls in The Shadows have nicknames that are mainly based on their idiosyncrasies, so Amelia’s is “Sugarcoat ”which she prefers more than her actual name. Despite that nickname, Sugarcoat is quite the opposite: she’s blunt, rude, nonchalant about others’ sufferings. Internally, despite not showing it that much, she can be caring and open to others. This is due to why she was admitted: she has narcissistic personality disorder.

How they got a letter from Once-ler or one of his members of his gang: The Shadows attempt to rob a museum. After a few hours of trying to get in, the rest of Sugarcoat’s friends and sisters left her be to get caught. She ended up inadvertently hacking into one of Flint’s computers; that’s when he knew that she had potential for Leverage.
