Character: Loki Falk
Age: 19
Position at Interpol: Junior Inspector
Personality: Loki is a rather intelligent, quick-witted, devious and mischievous young man. He is very analytical and observant around people which enables him to quickly analyze situations and small details. Because of this, he can come across as manipulative as he is always looking to twist things to his advantage. For the most part it is not done out of spite or truly malicious intentions, he mostly does this because he is looking for a chance to enjoy himself (albeit at someone else’s expense). When interacting with people, Loki is humorously sarcastic and fun-loving. On the other hand, he can be snarky and condescending when the mood takes him.
As an inspector, Loki is competent inspector who is good at his job. But he is still rather young and still has much to learn. His biggest flaw is that he occasionally oversells his abilities in order to make himself look good, mainly his magic abilities. He is also not the most honest of people. While Loki would never outright lie about something, he will occasionally withhold information if he believes that doing so will benefit him in the long run. However, if you know the correct questions to ask, he may leave you enough clues to understand what he knows or isn’t telling you.
Reason for wanting to Capture Once-ler’s gang: By rights and the history of his family, Loki should have been a mystic thief. His mother was a mystic and a gifter, known as “The Lady” by the criminal world and the law enforcement. However Loki knew her as Laufey or ‘mother’. Reason for wanting to Capture Once-ler’s gang: By rights and the family history, Loki should have been a mystic thief. His mother was a mystic and a gifter, known as “The Lady” by the criminal world and the law enforcement. However Loki knew her as Laufey or ‘mother’. Laufey was an extremely good thief and a talented mystic. She participated in and even orchestrated a variety of different heists that were of the caliber of the Once-ler’s gang. However, she was a thief who stole for herself and the betterment of her own life and Loki’s life. To live according to the flawed ideals of the Once-ler’s gang was a completely foreign concept to Laufey. To her, a thief was a thief. They were criminals that lived for themselves who occasionally caused trouble for the law enforcement. A thief was not a hero and it was pointless to pretend otherwise and Laufey made sure to teach these concepts to Loki. She did not want her son to become deluded like other thieves had.
Even though Laufey thought that the Once-ler and his gang were fooling themselves, she begrudgingly respected their skills and abilities as thieves. Occasionally, she would come in contact with one of the gang when on a heist. There were only so many highly powerful or expensive objects in the world after all. Sometimes Laufey was able to take what she need (or wanted) without rousing the gangs’ suspicions, other times there were fights and battles but Laufey always managed to escape and return to her young son.
One day however, the luck of this infamous mystic ran out. When Loki turned 13, Laufey decided to take him with her. It was Loki’s first heist in what Laufey hoped would be the start of her son’s criminal career. If only fate cared about the dreams of her toys. For this heist, Laufey was after a large, priceless black diamond known as 'The Devil's Heart'. As a diamond, it was one of the five most expensive and famous diamonds in the world. However, if a mystic or someone with mystic abilities were to take hold of it, it had the ability to double the wielder's power. Depending on the mystic's strength, the diamond could make them near unstoppable. Laufey hoped to take hold of the diamond and train herself and Loki to use it's powers. She planned to carve out a thieving empire for herself and Loki.
At first, things went well. They broke into the museum where the diamond was kept without hassle and found their way to the diamond with ease. However, that is where things began to go badly. When Laufey and Loki got to the diamond, someone had beaten them to it, Oogway the Once-ler's mystic. What the mystic turtle could have wanted with the diamond, Loki has never been sure. He may have wanted to destroy it to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands or maybe he wished to use it for good. Whatever his reasons, they conflicted with Laufey's. Angry at being beaten adn her plans foiled, Laufey fired an extremely destructive spell at Oogway in order to kill him and take the diamond from him. Startled, Oogway quickly blocked the spell which sent it outwards.
The rebound of the spell hit the walls and the support structure of the building. The museum began to shake and tremble around them as the spell did it's work. Soon parts of the building began to fall down around them. Oogway quickly left, leaving the diamond behind him. As for Laufey, she told Loki to leave and promised that she would be right behind him. Scared and unsure of what was happening, Loki chose to trust his mother and left the building just in time. Seconds after Loki escaped, the building crashed to the ground. There was nothing left but a pile of rubble and rock. Stunned, Loki stared at the building, waiting for his mother to burst out of the rubble, diamond in hand. The young teenager stayed there for hours but his mother surfaced, she was dead and the diamond lost. Heartbroken and angry, Loki swore that he would get revenge on Oogway and the Once-ler's gang. He would see to it that they never stole from another thief again and when he had done that, he was going to destroy Oogway just like the turtle had destroyed his mother.
From that day, 'The Lady' and her son Loki Laufey disappeared from the criminal scene. Nobody knew where they had gone or what had happened to them. In time the police accepted that 'The Lady' was gone and no longer operating in the world of crime. In time, thieves began to think of 'The Lady' as no more than a legend and many forgot that she even had a child.
Five years after the death of 'The Lady' and the disappearance of Loki Laufey, a young man showed up at the door of Interpol and applied for a job. His transcripts from police academy and series of flattering letters from professors showed that he was a highly skilled young man and more than competent inspector. A few days after applying, Loki Falk was accepted as a Junior Inspector at Interpol.
From that day on, Loki has been conducting his own investigations into the Once-ler and his gang while perfecting his mystic abilities. His entire goal is to bring them down, mainly Oogway and Interpol is currently the best resource he has that will help him do that.
Extra: Loki has some magical ability thanks to his mother. He has basic control over the elements and some abilities in shadow-walking (merging with darkness in order to remain hidden or undetected). However, Loki’s real talent is in creating illusions and seeing through the illusions of others. As his mother would say, an illusion is just a well-crafted story and a flawless lie that plays with the senses.
No one knows that Loki Falk is Loki Laufey, son of the infamous 'Lady'.
