Lucky News? (Marinette's audition)

It was another boring day at the office. Marinette Dupain-Cheng was at her desk, filling out some paperwork she needed to get done. Deep down through, the girl would rather be out of the office. She wanted to try to find more clues to some criminals around the area and capture them so they wouldn’t bring harm to anyone.

Course, her newest mission to try to capture Cat Noir was playing in her mind as well. He was a thief and it was her job to capture him. The flirting, while a bit charming, was annoying at times too. It seemed more like a game to him if anything. Marinette wondered if her partner, Carmelita, had any problems like this when the fox would try to capture the Cooper gang.

“Morning Ladybug.”

Marinette quickly looked up to a greenish haired boy. ‘Ladybug’ was a nickname she was given by different members of Interpol. Partly due to some of her Ladybug theme items like her earrings. A gift given to her by her parents when she was younger.

“Oh, morning Ryoshi.” Marinette said with a cheerful smile.

She made sure she wasn’t staring at him. Marinette knew how freaked out Ryoshi got if people did that.

“What’s up? I thought you would be going over some newer files.” Marinette.

“Y-Yeah, I’m in the middle of doing so. Through I was wondering if you heard any of the news. About Once-Ler’s gang.” Ryoshi said.

Mariette frowned a little and nodded. Once-Ler and his gang had been spotted at different parts of the world. Oddly enough, nothing seemed stolen during that time. It was confusing. After having gone into hiding, they were finally reappearing. There were rumors of the current members trying to find new ones but there wasn’t any real proof yet. At least, none at Interpol had found.


“I’ve heard of it. And I know Carmelita has too. Why do you ask?” Marinette asked, a hint of concern.

“Guess I’m just a bit worried. It seems like only trouble comes with them around. I can’t help but think those rumors are true.” Ryoshi admitted,

“I know what you mean. But we don’t have any proof to go by. And even if they were, we wouldn’t know who they want to bring in.” Marinette pointed out.

Ryoshi glanced away a bit.

“W-Well, I may have someone in mind…” Ryoshi admitted.

“And who would that be?” Marinette asked.

“That one thief you’ve tried to capture a few times...Cat Noir.” Ryoshi admitted.

Marinette paused. It would make sense for Once-Ler to want to bring Cat Noir in. After all, he had pulled up some heists already. While she didn’t admit it outloud and wasn’t willing to, he did show some great skills as well.

“...And have you told Ford about this or-” Marinette started.

“N-Not yet. I’m still making a list.” Ryoshi admitted sheepishly.

“So you have some ideas.” Marinette said.

“A little…”

“Ladybug!” Another member called out, “Carmelita wants to see you!”

Marinette turned her attention to the member.

“Alright, I’ll be right there!” Marinette called out.

The member nodded and walked off. Marinette turned to Ryoshi. She stood up from her desk.

“Sorry Ryoshi but I better go. Carmelita doesn’t like to be kept waiting.” Marinette said sheepishly.

“Don’t worry, it’s fine. I’ll see you later.” Ryoshi said.

Marinette said her byes before she started to walk off. However, the thought of Cat Noir joining Once-Ler kept ringing in her mind. Would he really do something like that?

‘...I guess I’ll find out the next time I run into him…’ Marinette thought.

Through when that would be was something only time could tell...
